Dana Rohde takes 3rd place in the U.S. Junior Womens Singlehanded Championship!

This regatta took place in Chicago Ill. on Lake Michigan off the shore of Chicago Yacht Club on July 9,10 & 11th. The fleet of 48 boats set sail in choppy seas with wind ranges from 12-15 knots. Dana dominated the the course on the second day with only five points separating the top three competitors. The last day was not as choppy and the breeze was lighter. At the end of the two races Dana places third only one point from the second place finisher. As we watch this “spirited” young lady compete she exemplifies what every parent wants in a child. A child with character, values, a tough competitor and a role model for her peers. Her peers and coaches felt the same at this regatta awarding Dana with The C. Thomas Clagett, JR. Sportsmanship Prize!!!! Way to go Dana,we wish you smooth sailing the rest of the summer.
